Dear All,
Hello all the VB experts, my name is samuel, I am just newly joined to this VB professional forum. I am major in Mechatronic Engineering and currently I am working as Application Engineer in a multinational company. Ya, you are not mistaken, I am here but I am not major in Information Technology, haha.
Actually, I am some sort of R&D guy and I was asked by my boss a couple of days ago to help developing a Read & Write GUI (or any interface) to associate with the existing database (the database of our company products that I am in-charging). The method that has come across my mind instantly is to use Visual Basic Editor & Macro in Excel to attain this.
However, I am not familiar with VBA although I do have some experience in C language and C++, and they are kind of different I guess. So I would like to seek for some assistance from this forum to help me start up with my work or to give me some advices with regards to the feasibility of using VBA. (I know this might be as easy as ABC for the IT maniac, but frankly speaking I have been researching this for a couple of days but I am still scratching my head right now, hahaha)
For better comprehension, I will explain again in more detail about the outcome I am targetting.
1) I need to create a GUI that is able to WRITE (to enter new customer info) into existing database and READ (to search for the customer detail from the database either based on the product model or customer name)
2) If product name is search, I will need it to display the relevant customers that have once purchased the products.
3) And if customer name is searched, I will need it to display the products that have been purchased by the relevant customer.
4) And once the result is acquired, I can click on it to go for the detailed information.
Is this attainable? I hope the experts over here can lend me your hand. Thank you very much. Hope to hear from you all soon.
Best Regards,
Samuel
