Database Connections

Hi, I'm very very new to this. I'm trying to write a basic software to distribute to small preschool charities to help with their invoicing. It has quite specific requirements, so most are manually doing their invoicing which is a nightmare.

I've downloaded Visual Studio 2015, and created a basic home page with 6 clickable buttons for different pages. And there I get stuck. I have tried creating a new form with a database, I've tried so many different ways I can't even think of them all.

Should I be creating each page in a new project and combine them after, or should they all be in the one project? In which case, how do I connect to a database? (I'm guessing that's what I need to do to get all the children information entered.

I'm afraid I haven't even managed to get a page for the entry of business details, which I would like to have so that it automatically goes onto invoices when they are printed.

I've done lots of Youtube videos, but they all seem to have options which I don't, such as Database Designer, or I simply don't get the result they say I will, such as when I right click and created a database under the table, it apparently should have popped up after I had created it, but it didn't.

Would someone be able to point me in the right direction to try and get started?

Thanks very much!
